🧼 Maintenance & Care
Proper care ensures your bell tent stays strong and beautiful for years. Here’s how to protect your investment:
-
Always dry before packing: Pack away only when the tent is completely dry to avoid mould and mildew.
-
Clean with care: Use lukewarm water and mild soap. Never machine wash or pressure clean.
-
Ventilate regularly: Air out the tent during long stays to prevent dampness and condensation.
-
Reproof the canvas: After extended use or heavy weather, apply a canvas reproofer to maintain waterproofing.
-
Store in a dry place: Keep your packed tent in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight.
🧽 Maintenance FAQs
How do I clean my bell tent?
Use a soft brush or sponge, lukewarm water, and a mild, non-detergent soap. Never use bleach or machine wash. Let it dry fully before packing away.
What should I do if the tent gets mouldy?
Act quickly. Gently clean the affected area with vinegar and warm water. Once dry, reproof the area with a canvas waterproofing treatment.
Do I need to reproof my tent?
Yes. After long-term use or exposure to heavy rain, you should reproof the canvas using a recommended canvas reproofer to maintain water resistance.
Can I leave the tent set up for months?
While the canvas is durable, we recommend periodic maintenance checks, especially in wet or humid conditions. Open vents and windows occasionally for airflow and clean off dirt or leaves to prevent degradation.
Is the groundsheet removable for cleaning?
Yes! Our tents feature a zip-off PVC groundsheet, making it easy to clean separately and maintain hygiene.
